SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships at Harrow Bangkok aim to recognise a student’s exceptional achievements.

Scholarships are an important aspect of the provision we offer at Harrow Bangkok. Our scholarships generally have a monetary reward, usually a reduction of school fees, but the primary aim of a scholarship is to recognise a student’s exceptional achievements. The awards we offer reflect our commitment to the diversity and range of talents that are fostered within the student body.

Applications for this Scholarship Programme have now closed. All applicants will be notified regarding the outcome of their application on or before 29th March 2022.

This scholarship is awarded to students who have made an outstanding contribution to the school community. Head Master’s Scholars must display considerable talent in at least one area such as music or sports as well as maintaining an exceptional academic record.

Candidates sit the standard entrance tests for their age group and additionally are asked to demonstrate (by portfolio or certification) that they excel in more than one field. In this context ‘excel’ means national or international honours  and/or certified competence that is several years ahead of the norm and unusually impressive.

The Head Master’s Scholarship may not always be a monetary reward, receipt of the title ‘Head Master’s Scholar’ is considered an honour in itself, and is awarded at the discretion of the Head Master.

Academic Scholarships are awarded to students entering Harrow Bangkok who demonstrate high academic ability. This potential will be measured by an entrance test, specific subject tests (30 minutes), prior academic records and through interview/s with senior staff. Academic Scholars usually benefit from a monetary reward.

SIXTH FORM SCHOLARSHIP

Sixth Form Scholarships are awarded to students progressing to, or entering, the Sixth Form. Recipients will demonstrate an outstanding record of external examination performance (usually in GCSE/IGCSE). The award of a Sixth Form Scholarship is itself an honour, and existing Harrow Bangkok students with a high number of A*/A grades will usually benefit from a small monetary reward in line with the criteria set for that academic year. New students entering the Sixth Form who have met the criteria gain the title of scholar but do not receive the monetary award.
